Halstock Sheds Terms and Conditions

By purchasing from Halstock Sheds Ltd it is assumed that the customer fully agrees to all terms and conditions. If you do not, please contact us in writing before any delivery/collection of any products occurs to cancel your order. If you have ordered a timber building you will be liable for production costs.

1. Materials

The majority of our products are manufactured from Timber which is a natural product and so is subject to some movement and cracking. Slight movement and cracking will not be regarded as faulty. Pressure treated products dry to a pale green or brown colour however this colour can vary a lot according to species of timber and weather conditions. Variations in colour are not regarded as being faulty.

 2. Base requirements

We will ask at the time of order being taken, what base your building will be going on. Ideally a concrete base is preferred, and a level one. Alternative bases can be paving slabs, or wooden timber frames or posts. If the customer is sorting the base themselves, the base must be level otherwise the building cannot be installed. This is to ensure the longevity and functionality of your building, there must be clear access to the base. If these requirements are not met, then we will need to come back at another time to install, which would incur an extra call out charge.

3. Payment

At the time of ordering a 50% non-refundable deposit will be required. Remaining balance is to be paid upon completion of the works outlined. All products remain property of Halstock Sheds LTD until the balance of full payment has been received. Failure to comply with

these terms may result in removal of any buildings or works. Final payment is due on day of delivery.

 4. Treatment (timber buildings)

All our sheds come treated with a Hazelnut brown water/acrylic wood preserving treatment from Protek as standard. It has an expected life of 1 year and you will have to retreat the building annually to prolong the life of your building. If in an area exposed to the elements, your building requires treatment more frequently.

You can purchase this treatment from our main office in Halstock or via Protek online.

5. Cancellations

If you have purchased a building from us then unfortunately you will lose

your non- refundable 50% deposit, as manufacturing will have already begun. Returns are not accepted, due to the timber building  being made to order and bespoke to that customer.

6. Snags and callout charges

We will cover any snags and adjustments to your building for the first 6 months if we have

installed it and the fault has been made by the manufacturer/ installer. Halstock Sheds will not cover any faults that have occurred due to modification after delivery or erection. After this period there will be a callout charge of £60.00 ex VAT. Any work that is required due to care and maintenance not being adhered to, or through fault not caused by Halstock Sheds, will be payable by the customer.

For delivery only buildings we will cover any items that have been damaged on delivery or any manufacturer defaults. Items must be checked and signed for on delivery.

7. Storm and weather damage

We are not liable for any adverse weather conditions that may cause damage to your building, this is out of our hands as it is a natural occurrence. Being a natural product wood will expand in wet weather and will shrink during dry weather. It is important to continue to preserve your building with a treatment. Once you no longer see beads of water running off your building, it is time to retreat to ensure water is repelled. Faults caused due to lack of care and maintenance will not be covered.

8. Planning and building regulations

It is the customer’s responsibility to check with the local planning authority to check planning permission and if applicable building regulations for their building is required. Halstock Sheds Ltd cannot be held responsible once the building has been installed if planning or building regulations were required.
